Sex After Pregnancy
After pregnancy, some women notice a lack of vaginal lubrication during intercourse. A water-based lubricant can be used to decrease the discomfort of vaginal dryness.
Water-based lubricants like JoyLube are the best kind of lubricant to use, whether you are pregnant or not. Petroleum based lubricants are incompatable with condoms, making holes in the latex. They also interfere with the pH balance of the vagina, (which can lead to infections like yeast and bacteria) and over time petroleum based lubricants can actually increase dryness.
Stick with the simple formulas like JoyLube and avoid those with “extras” such as heating or cooling effects, as these can cause irritation to sensitive tissues.
Even if lubrication is not normally an issue, it could be after the baby’s birth. Breastfeeding hormones can tend to dry up vaginal secretions, decreasing the amount of intimate lubrication available for love making.
Keep on breastfeeding, that’s best for Baby. Then when the moment arises, reach for the bottle of JoyLube and apply liberally, that’s best for Mommy…
Remember, You Can Rub It Anywhere!
Enjoy,
Sincerely, Joyful Lubrications
